2005 New York Vacation             Home

We had a great time in New York early in the Summer.  The weather was incredible.

The highlight - believe it or not - was seeing the Broadway play "Spamalot," an adaptation of the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail."  I always thought it was only for males, and typically teenaged ones at that.  I had suggested that we should see the it, fully thinking they would get the joke and insist on seeing something different.  Yet they liked the idea and absolutely loved the musical.  I love my family.

We also had a chance to see Fiddler on the Roof, plus a ballet, and of course all the touristy things like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty (we just took the harbor boat tour and didn't actually go inside), Central Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and some shopping.

The food was pretty good.  The Carnegie Deli was incredible.  We went there twice, but could have gone there daily.  I could eat their chicken noodle soup, potato pancakes and blintzes three times a day.  The street vendors were surprisingly inexpensive.
